The Falcon, Alfreton Road, Nottingham is on the A610 opposite
the Cemetery. It used to be called Sion Hill in 1855 but now called Canning
Circus where The Alfreton,Derby and Ilkeston roads meet
Speculation and fact. My Great, Great grandfather Arthur Haw was a builder in
Nottingham in the mid 1800's when the above was built and had an alliance with a
brickmaker Edwin Gauntley Loverseed. They may have built it and drank there but
this is just speculation without evidence. It is a fact they lived close and
both E G Loverseed and the first landlord John Hickling were executors named in
Arthur Haws will. *
