My Grandparents Leslie Tuckett and Nelly (nee Shepard), were landlords in the 1930's of the Horse and Jockey, in Abingdon, until in 1939 they moved to the Railway Inn, at Ladder Hill, Wheatley; before moving to the Royal Hunt, Ascot until she died in June 1972. It appears there are a number of publicans in my maternal history. *

In 1939 at the Railway Hotel, Station Road, Ladder Hill, Wheatley, Bullingdon are
Leslie J H Tuckett, Publican and Morris panel assembler, born 14 Sep 1899
Nelly R Tuckett, Wife, born 06 May 1903
Anthony Leslie Tuckett, born 24 Mar 1934
