Albert Hall was licensee here in the forties and my grandmother worked as a barmaid, my grandad passed away in 1937, my grandma moved to pleasant street and I believe (as she had four sons so was a one parent) is when she worked for Albert. *
They married but only for three months, as Albert died, and she ended up running the Rose, Thistle & Shamrock up to the sixties as we as children lived in the pub from 1949 for eight years. I believe the pub closed down as it was going to be demolished. My grandmas name was Elizabeth Hall re Lovatt. *
Also, after the Rose, Thistle & Shamrock, my grandma moved to the Dolphin in Church street Burslem for a while. *
