My great grandfather, George William Freeman, was publican at the New Inns in the 1920s, and possibly during the war years; as in the following * :

The 1917 enlistment where my grandfather (George Henry Arthur Freeman) gives his residence as 13 Wednesbury Road, aged 17 years 11 months, a clerk.
