CAPEL ST. ANDREW is a village and parish, on Butley Water, 4 miles west from Orford, and 7� from Woodbridge, in the hundred and rural deanery of Wilford, union and county court district of Woodbridge, archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, East Suffolk. There is no church. The living is annexed to Butley. Lord Rendlesham is lord of the manor. The population in 1861 was 231; area, 2,272 acres.
