LITTLE BRADLEY is a parish, in Risbridge hundred and union, Haverhill
county court district, rural deanery of Clare, archdeaconry of Sudbury, and
diocese of Ely, West Suffolk, one mile south from Great Bradley. The church of
All Saints is a small ancient building, with circular tower, and contains a
monumental brass in memory of John Dave, the printer, who died at Walden, in
Essex, in 1584. The living is a discharged rectory, valued in the King's Books
at £5 0s. 10d.; has a yearly rent-charge of £250 awarded in 1841 in lieu of
tithes, in the patronage of the executors of the late Charles Lamprell, Esq.,
and held by the Rev. Charles W. Lamprell, M.A., of Clare College, Cambridge. The
Rev. Charles W. Lamprell is lord of the manor and owner of the soil. The crops
are wheat, barley, oats and roots: the soil is mixed. The area is 957 acres, and
the population 28.
