RINGSHALL is a village and parish, in Bosmere and Claydon union and hundred, Stowmarket county court district, rural deanery of Bosmere, archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, East Suffolk, 4 � miles south-west from Needham Market station, and 5 from Stowmarket. The church of St. Katherine is of Gothic and Norman architecture: it has a square-built tower and chancel. The living is a rectory, annual value �562, with residence, in the gift of Pembroke College, Oxford, and held by the Rev. Charles Frederick Parker, M.A., who is non-resident. The population in 1861 was 350, and the area is 2,116 acres, of clayey land. William Adair, Esq., is lord of the manor.
