My family originated from the Wickham Market area (I've got back as far as Jesse Hill born 1781). But from the census of 1871 and 1881 I see that my great great grandfather (George Hill and his wife Caroline) were located at the Volunteers Inn and his occupation is Baker and Victualler. In 1861, George is a Journeyman Baker, living with his sister Fanny, and her daughter. They are next to a Public House in Wickham Market, which is almost certainly the Volunteers. ***
