The Harrow in Cheam Celebrates Its Reopening - Stonegate News
Thursday 08 March 2012
Champagne and celebrations were the order of the day at the Harrow in Cheam over the weekend, as the team at the pub celebrated their reopening, following an investment of £185,000 which saw the pub closed for 12 days.
The pub, which is owned by national pub operator, the Stonegate Pub Company not only has a fantastic new look both inside and out, a new management team has also been appointed to bring new life into the pub. Tina Hunt, is the new licensee of The Harrow and brings with her over 22 years of experience within the licensed retail sector.
Tina said: “I’m delighted with the feedback the team and I have had from customers so far. Everyone has been incredibly positive and our opening weekend was a real success. We’ve made some radical changes at The Harrow as well as creating a mix of full and part time jobs for the area.
We’ve given a lick of paint to the outside of the pub which has brightened it up and we’ve also introduced new signage which gives the pub a more classic, traditional feel. Inside has been completely transformed, everything feels rich and luxurious. The designers have really done themselves proud, we’ve got some beautiful feature wallpaper throughout the pub; new Chesterfield-style sofas and banquette seating which is perfect for relaxing in and new dining furniture for the restaurant area. We’ve introduced table service in selected areas which gives our customers a bit more of a restaurant experience, so it’s perfect for family celebrations and get togethers. The refurbishment has also created a number of separate areas that can be cordoned off for private parties or functions.
“Also new to The Harrow is the fact that we’ll be open at 10am offering breakfasts and food will be served up until 10pm every day. We’ve got a number of events planned and special deals throughout the week which we hope will entice customers both new and existing to The Harrow.
“For example, on Monday night we have a number of selected dishes at £3.99 and a pint of Bombardier for £2.49. Tuesday night sees our quiz night start from 8pm and we have a great deal on sharing platters where you can save £1.50 on combo platters ordered – always good to have some brain food! Wednesday is our curry night and Thursday sees our Grill and Drink promotion along with our great value for money cocktail offer. The week is then rounded up by our traditional roast on a Sunday where you can get a drink and a roast for £8.25.
“We’ve got lots going on at The Harrow and the team and I are really committed to making the pub one of the best in the area, so we would like to encourage everyone to come down to The Harrow and see the changes we’ve made.”
