23 July 1892/ The Southbridge Arms," South Croydon, from Mr. Hook to Mr. Jerome; Croydon Guardian and Surrey County Gazette *

I have traced that my great grandparents were at the Southbridge Arms, Croydon, by 1895, for George Fisher.
I believe that when they returned from Australia, they responded to an advert put in the paper by C Jerome, whom was a previous landlord to the Fishers.
The advert was in 'The Croydon Guardian and Surrey County Gazette' dated Saturday, January 19, 1895 :
To Brewers and Others – Wanted, Management of public-house, off-licence, with or without grocery, coffee tavern or any place of trust. Address, C Jerome, 62, South-end, Croydon.
