For selling rum and gin above the maximum price and fir taking the spirits from a receptacle not legibly marked to show the contents, Mr Frederick Mellish Johnson of the The Railway Hotel, Purley, and two barmen, were ordered to pay in all £70 fines and £2 2s analysts fee.
Mr JOhnson had been a licensed victualler for 40 years and never a single record against hi, He was also a past chairman of the Licensed victuallers Schools.
