Tatsfield pub history index
The Grasshopper dates from 1271. It was originally a couple of cottages, one of which was a beer house. It was considerably extended in the 1950s. The pub closed in 2019, initialy for refurbishment but has deteriorated over the years. In 2023, plans to demolish the original building and build a residential home.

Thomas Bristy, landlord of the Grasshopper public house, Tatsfield was summoned for keeping it open for the sale of beer on a Sunday, during the hours of divine service. Fined 10 shillings and costs 17s 6d.
