My grandfather, Herbert Oxley, owned it briefly - about 1952 to 1953. He bought it for £5,500 and did a number of alterations and sold it for £8,900.

My late father, Ian Odde, was the landlord from 1968 until 1972 after which it was sold at auction held at The Norfolk Arms hotel in the High Street. The buyer was an American who converted it to a private dwelling. **
