My late parents John (jack) and Lucy Lago ran this busy public house in the
early 1950s for many years, my late brother Chris married the landlords daughter
(Vera Bevan) from the public house next door, the
Maltsters Arms. *
I believe that both pubs were knocked into one larger unit some while later. The
supply Brewery was known as KTB, Kemptown brewery which was on the corner in
Eastern Road. *
