Kings Head, 102 London road, Burgess Hill

The Kings Head was originally named the “Red Lion” dating back to about 1780. It was a stopping place on the London to Brighton road for mail and stage coaches and close to the annual “Sheep Fair” - an event held at least as early as 1342 until 1912. It was rebuilt in the 1930s, but closed on 3rd April 2012 and was finally demolished mid September 2013.
