In 1901 it was James Northeast senior but by 1911 it was his son, Archibald
James Northeast, but always called James except for his army records, etc.
I’m trying to fill in the gaps. James senior died in 1907. James junior
joined the Army in 1914 and he had been an Insurance Agent for Pearl
Assurance for 3 years. This seems to imply that he gave up the pub in 1911,
some time after the census return. *
