Cocking pub the Cobden Arms applied for a licence, but was refused as it was claimed that the Cobden only sold 30 gallons of ale a year. The Cobden Arms persisted and eventually gained a licence and remained in business until eventually closing its doors about 20 years ago when the building was converted into a private house.
