Hastings pub history index
Another recently closed Hastings pub, previously known as the Mount Pleasant ( e.g. in 1866, and not to be confused with the still open pub of the same name in nearby Mount Pleasant Road which was built in 1873); and also known as the Milkmans Arms, this former tollhouse pub burnt down in the 1920s and was rebuilt in this form. It has now been converted into a chemist's shop. The Royal Sussex Arms stood at a rather complicated multiple junction of several Roads: including Old London Road (formally called London Road) and High Bank. ***
