Hastings pub history index
at Stratford Place, White Rock in 1878 & earlier. For at least ten years this pub has been trading as the Smugglers. It closed earlier this year (2010) and its future is uncertain. I understand that the building is in need of extensive repair.
The pub on the last night of long term landlord Ewen Smith in 2009, and the building as it is today (2010), boarded up with steel shutters. The pub closed for a few weeks after Ewen left and then reopened under new management, but closed again about six months later.
