Martin has researched into the history of the Fox and Hounds, Wivelsfield and discovered that it oncr included a smallholding of some 24 acres where the publicans butchered their own livestock.
Times have changed in many respects. Today the Fox and Hounds is owned by Phoenix Breweries and the 24 acres has given way to a pretty garden where customers enjoy a drink on warm days. Nathaniel Randall would be hard pressed to recognise the building itself, with it attractive extensions, spacious bars and dining room, but he would appreciate the old-fashioned hospitality offered by the Garsides who took over two years ago.
A year ago saw the completion of an extensive refurbishing programme and the opening of the 44 seat dining room.
Two spacious bars serve a good selection of beers, lagers and spirits, with real ales from King and Barnes of Horsham, Ushers and Yorkshire. You'll find good coffee too,
