The Kings Head, Slinfold, has been a Pub for the past 375+ years; and still open! It was shown as an inn on a map in 1651, but other records suggest it was probably an inn by at least the 1630's. It is, however, now known as the Red Lyon, the name it had in 1687! It was known as the Kings Head by 1750 and remained under that name until 1999, when it was again renamed The Slinfold Inn. When it changed hands again in 2001-2002, it reverted to its older name of the Red Lyon. ***
