The White Horse, Star road in the 1901 census. Listed as the White Hart, Star road in 1891 census; and the White Horse, Springfield road in 1871
The listings for 1871 and 1874 are for the White Horse in Springfield Road, the site of which is now the ring road next to the Malt Shovel. The White Horse in Springfield Road was rebuilt c. 1916 and renamed the Michell Arms. It was then demolished for the present pub which was erected in 1939. That became the Malt Shovel. c. 1996. *
