Sheffield Arms, Fort Road, Newhaven

The Sheffield Arms, was always thought that it was built about 1895 but the 1881 shows Sheffield Arms "Shants" -these were wooden huts put up for the breakwater builders and the 1871 census shows George Page as publican.  ***
