This was previously The Artichoke from 1783, and by 1795 The Harty Chalk. The Horse Barefoot as named in 1849, was named after a St Leger winner in 1823. Possibly also the pub called The Bear’s Paw, mentioned in 1891. It closed 1927. Later on the site was Harry’s Café Bar in 1984 and The Bedroom opened in 2002 *
