Death - Holmes, on Thursday last, suddenly, highly respected, aged 64, Mr Thomas Holmes, formerly a turnkey in York Castle, and subsequently landlord of the Bay Horse, Skeldergate.
This is later renamed to the Albert Hotel by 1872, which closed in 1938.
