There are two different Black Dog, in Jubbergate in 1834. Joseph Jameson is at 4 Jubber gate; and Elizabeth Spurr is at 59 Jubber gate. The Old Black Dog at 59 Jubber gate is mentioned in a lease August 1757, By 1823 it was just the Black Dog, but again the Old Black Dog by 1828 to differentiate the different Dogs. In 1830, this Black Dog was named the Original Black Dog and last mentioned in 1846 as The Dog. *HM

Deaths - on the 27th ult, aged 82, Mrs Ann Buckle, many years proprietor of a public house on the road between York and Tadcaster, and widow of Mr George Buckle, formerly of the Black Dog, Jubbergate, in this city.

Sudden Death - on Sunday evening last, Mr Thomas Cogan, a commercial traveller, went to the house of Mr Jameson, the Black Dog, in Jubbergate in this city , where he was taken ill in the course of the night.

Five Pounds Reward - Stolen, a Black Pony, with a little White on the Forehead, White Off-Hind Heel, a little White round the same foot near the hoof, and stands 13 1/2 Hands high.
The Pony was hired on the 18th instant to go from York to Sheriff Hutton, and return the same day, but has not been heard of since that time.
Any Person giving information, so as to lead to the Conviction of the Offender and the Restoration of the Pony, shall receive the above Reward of Five Pounds on application to Mr Pool, Black Dog, Jubbergate or at the Greyhound Inn, Spurriergate, York.
