A beerhouse first mentioned in 1876, on the corner of Price street and Cygnet street, from which it takes its name. It was leased to Joshua tetley and Son of Leeds on 13 July 1891. Tetleys rebuilt it on a new site in the 1930s and it was granted a fill on livense ion 11 February 1960. *HM
