York Brewster Sessions andit appeared in this city there are three hundred and two houses licensed for sale of intoxicating liquor.
Several publicans were reported as not conducting their houses with respectability, amongst whom were Mr Watson, who keeps the Square and Compass Inn, Goodramgate, and Mr Carr, of the Lord Nelson Inn, Swinegate.
Mr Watson had his license refused, and Mr Carr, who was not present, had his license postponed.

York Licences Extinguished.
The York Compensation Authority confirmed the refusal of the licences of the Three Cups, the Brewers Arms, the Black Bull, Walmgate, the Square and Compasses (Long Close lane) and the Leopard Inn (Coney street), all fully licensed houses, which had been reported for extinction.
