I have been researching my great great grandfather, John William King born
Suffolk, who owned the 'White
Horse' in Shenley Herts. All of his sons, but one owned pubs around
London and his daughters (but one) all married husbands who also owned pubs,
see the King Family,

I was checking on the Groom Family, who married into my King line. I found a
John Groom had owned the Great Northern Inn in Hatfield in 1881 and found it
had been revamped and now trading. This was at 54 Great North Road, as in
the picture. ***
