My parents Arthur and Edith Pilcher moved in to the Tam O'Shanter before
I was born (1938), Arthur Pilcher was the Licensee with Trumans'.
Although I don't know the exact year they moved in, my best guess would
be circa 1933/1934. *

1949/My Father died, and Trumans' transferred the Licence to my
Mother Edith Pilcher. *
1951/My Mother remarried to James Warriner. I believe the Licence was
held in their joint names. *
1955/ We left the Tam O'Shanter, my parents took over a
Newsagent/Tobacconist shop in Luton High Street. *
Note: from early 1930's through to the 1960's a number of my relations
were also local landlords: *
