East Farleigh is a village, adjoining the Maidstone branch railway, which has a
station here, and, is two miles and a half S.W. from Maidstone. The population
in 1851 was 1,401. The church is very ancient. The living is a vicarage, in the
patronage of the Crown; the Rev. Thomas Watson, M.A., is the incumbent.
