The Anchor Inn, Wingham has been shortlisted as a finalist in the category of Best Pub for Entertainment at the Great British Pub Awards 2022.
Formed of two farm cottages, The Anchor Inn provides a warm welcome to all of its guests and provides a range of refreshing drinks and traditional pub food. The Anchor Inn also offers great entertainment and is the place to be if you are looking to have some fun, there is always something going on, including live music nights, open mic nights and quizzes. The pub won the award for Best Pub for Entertainment in 2014 and been finalists in the same category in 2017 and 2018 and is hoping to be victorious once again.
Michelle Abbot, Co-Licensee of The Anchor Inn, said: “It is wonderful that we have been nominated for Best Pub for Entertainment once again at the Great British Pub Awards. The team, Kevin and I work so hard to make the pub as fun as possible and try to offer a range of exciting events that everyone will love.”
Live music is big for the pub and has some great acts performing including, The Mary Lee Family Band, Kai Hoffman and The Fabulous Red Diesel. In addition to the live music nights, the pub offers all of its guests the opportunity to show their music talents at regular open mic nights.
If music is not your thing, The Anchor has quiz nights twice a month hosted by Dangerous Dave and allows all guests to put their knowledge to the test, with a range of rounds, even a sing-along round. If you wish to partake, pop in on the night or pre-book your space with a member of the team.

The Great British Pub Awards is such a big event for the pub industry, and it is an achievement in itself being nominated again within these prestigious awards.”
The awards recognise pubs, and their teams across the country for their amazing efforts and hard work undertaken to makes Britain’s pubs great for their communities. Two rounds of judging have already taken place to choose the finalists, and further judging will commence over the summer with pub visits taking place.
