Mary Gifford of the Rose and Crown 65 Stockwell road London SW9 (wife of Francis Edward Gifford) died 17 April 1941 at South London Hospital Clapham Common London SW4 Administration Llandudno 24 March to the said Francis Edward Gifford and Harold Henry Short licensed victuallers. *

The last landlord here, was Francis Edward Gifford. The pub was bombed on 16 April 1941; Francis survived, but his wife Mary was killed. *
