West Surrey Times 13 November 1875
William Sadler was charged with keeping his house open during prohibited hours at Egham, on the 23rd October.
Inspector Pike deposed - on the 25th I was passing the Armstrong Gun beerhouse, Englefield Green, at twenty minutes past ten. I saw a number of men standing in front of the bar. The licensee siad he had not drawn any beer since ten.
Dismissed with a caution.

Alfred Pickett, labourer, was summoned for being drunk and refusing to quit the Armstrong Gun beerhouse, at Englefield Green when requested to do so.
Robert Edwards, landlord of the beerhouse proved the case
Defendant fined 10, including costs.

Mr A A Dimond, the licensee of the Armstrong Gun, Englefield Green applied for a wine licence. The house was close to the Social Hall, at which many functions were held, and those who visited the hall used the house. Application granted.
