By 1901 William John Lewis is now running the Royal Albion Hotel, Hastings. The Lewis family started building a chain of pubs; by 1901, three of the five siblings were licensed victuallers. The third was Mary Elizabeth Attfield ( maiden name Lewis) Who ran the Jericho House, 57 Walton Street, Oxford. Caroline Lewis who was the mother of William, Thomas and Mary was also living with Mary in 1901; who was at the White Hart, Ripley in 1891. Whilst brother Thomas is at the Vine, Chertsey. ***
