Hastings pub history index
At 61 Mount Pleasant Road in 1891 and earlier. The entry for the Mount Pleasant in 1866 at London Road in Ore, refers to the Royal Sussex Arms and cannot be for this one as it appears that the Mount Pleasant in Mount Pleasant road was built during or after 1873. The Mount Pleasant is at the junction of Mount pleasant Road and Calvert Road (formally St John's Road) about half a mile to the South of the Royal Sussex Arms and nowhere near Old London Road. An image in 1905 is here - The tram tracks are gone, but I think the only thing that's changed in this area are the price. ***
