My Grandfather was a GPO Telegraph Linesman and a Beer Retailer, and later a Licensed Victualler at 34 Wynford Road, Islington. I have found a record of him in the Finsbury Division Register of Licenses, in the parish of St. Mary, Islington, quote "GOLDSMITH'S ARMS, number 34 Wynford Road, Islington (Built 1891) - From the 7 March 1895 until 30 September 1907; Walter George LILES is shown as holding a license for these premises, known as Goldsmith's Arms Tavern, owned by Notting Hill Brewery Company, Portland Road, Notting Hill, to sell BEER by retail ON OR OFF the premises." Walter and his wife Susan LILES (formerly INGRAM) moved to 34 Wynford Road sometime between 1892 and 1894, as shown on their children's Birth certificates. My Father was born there in 1903. Walter G. LILES is also shown as living there on the Electoral Registers from 1896 to 1908.  ***
